Women Favoured As el-Rufai Names Heads Of Key Agencies

The Kaduna State Government, led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai has  announced the appointment of Umma Aboki as the Executive Secretary of its investment promotion agency, KADIPA.

The government also named Aisha Saidu-Bala as the pioneer Director-General of the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Agency, KADSTRA.

This was expressed in a statement signed by the Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to Governor el-Rufai,  Samuel Aruwan.

The government statement said that the appointments are with immediate effect.

“Governor Nasir El-Rufai has approved the appointment of Umma Aboki as the Executive Secretary of KADIPA. The governor also named Aisha Saidu-Bala as the pioneer D-G of the state’s transport regulator, KADSTRA.

“Umma has more than 20 years’ experience in the banking and finance sector, during which she worked with Guaranty Trust Bank and Sterling Bank, among others.

She graduated with a degree in Statistics in 1994, and holds a master’s degree in Finance. She was appointed Special Adviser Economic and Investment Matters in 2017.

“The new Executive Secretary said that she is delighted to be given the responsibility to consolidate and build on the sterling work that the KADIPA team has done to firmly place Kaduna State on the investment map.

“Aisha is moving from her current role as Senior Special Assistant on Mass Transit to become the first Director-General of the Kaduna State Transport Regulatory Agency.

In her previous role, she worked on the design of mass transit initiatives such as a BRT for Kaduna metropolis.

“She headed the team responsible for system tests on the Jubilee Line extension project of the London Underground.

She was involved in operations management on the Piccadilly Line before working as a consultant on transport projects in Europe, Africa and South America.

“Aisha Saidu-Bala graduated from King’s College, University of London with a degree in Engineering.

She holds a postgraduate diploma in Environmental Management from Imperial College and earned a master’s degree in Development Studies from Birkbeck College, University of London.”
