Widow In Police Net For Biting Minor In Onitsha

A middle aged widow living at a Housing Estate in Fegge area of Onitsha, Anambra State who has severally been accused of manhandling her underage house help has been nabbed by the police for biting the minor.
It was learnt that trouble came calling when the 8-year old house help (names withheld), a native of Osumogho , Ihiala Local Government Area of the state forgot to turn off the gas cooker after cooking.
According to a neighbor, “when she noticed the cooker was not turned off, she drew her closely and bit her deep into her skin for wasting gas.”
In his reaction, a Human Rights activist, Dede Uzor Uzor, said that from their findings, the victim has been undergoing series of human rights abuses which include biting.
He said that it was his report at Fegge Police station, Onitsha that led to the suspect’s arrest.
Though the Divisional Police Officer, DPO of Fegge station, Mr. Rabiu Garba could not be reached for reaction, a senior police officer who doesnt want his name in print said, “the woman is in our custody”.
