The Oluwo of Iwoland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Dr. Abdul Rasheed Adewale Akanbi Telu 1 has disclosed why his subjects can never go to sleep hungry.
While hosting the Corps Commandant General (CCG) of the Neighbourhood Enlightenment and Safety Organisation (NESO), Sani Aliyu at his palace at the weekend, in State of Osun, he explained that all those who are hungry always troop to the palace and are fed.
He said that within the past nine months, himself and his council of chiefs have done a lot that has greatly impacted positively on those in his domain.
The Oluwo explained that he believed kingship is not for lording it over subjects but for the serving people.
“All the good things you are seeing, it is not only myself  it is the advice from my staff, they make it possible and they make it the right way, they tell me if you are taking these steps, it is the right way if I take this step, it is wrong.

“Over a year in this Iwo land we didn’t want to see people hungry. Anybody that is hungry comes to the palace to get food to eat. During Sallah we shared clothes to the people and money to go and sew”.

Speaking further, he said that they have also engaged in a medical intervention for people worth over a 1.5b Naira.

“We are organising to give our youth quality education by attracting National Open University here. We also sponsor and we are actually constructing roads,” The Oba who is the Patron of NESO in State of Osun added.

The Oluwo who is a philanthropist further said that he was also planning to use his personal money to construct roads outside his domain.
Earlier in his remarks, NESO CCG said he was impressed by the rare attributes exhibited by the Oluwo.
“It is hard to see a king with such humility because before people see their king, until there is an event. But for the king to be walking on the road, working for his people, it shows he is a good leader it is hard to see kings like you,” he added.
