In its effort to meet up with the financial inclusion target of Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) on need to open bank accounts for Nigerians that they are without one, especially those in rural areas, Bizi Mobile Cashless Consultants Limited has vowed to create N7m bank accounts in 2019.
They said this will be achieved in collaboration with Northern associations in southern part of the country with branches in Lagos, Enugu, Rivers, Ondo, Anambra, including Gari ya Waye forum, Hausa Okada Riders Association, Tomatoes sellers Association, Hausa meat sellers Association, which they have met and signed an agreement to create no fewar than seven million bank account for their siblings ones across the northern states.
The MD/CEO of Bizi mobile cashless consultant limited, High Chief Aminu Aminu Bizi said this in an interview with newsmen after a stakeholders meeting on how to be successful in the financial inclusion of Central Bank of Nigeria, vision 2020, held in Kano State.
Alhaji Aminu Bizi who is also the Chairman of the Association of Mobile Money Operators of Nigeria (AMMON) said, over two million Northern entrepreneurs living in Southern part of the country, have no access to bank accounts and as a result, they transfer money by sending a recharge cards to their families or by giving to the drivers who always travelling to the Northern parts of the country.
The MD/CEO of Bizi Mobile added that, “On the issue of people without bank accounts, I’m telling you that Bizi Mobile has gone far by visiting and consulting with the traditional rulers, stakeholders, market women associations, farmers, NURTW, youth associations and other organizations in the Northern part of this country, and finding solutions to their problems.”
He further said, ” I believe that before the ending of this year, I can create at least no fewer than 7 million bank accounts without stress to simplify for those without bank accounts in the rural areas.”
Alhaji Aminu Bizi, also said, “The reality of the matter is, almost 65 per cent of the Northerners don’t have bank accounts. And by doing so, Bizi Mobile and AMMON, will create accounts for them both in the urban and rural areas.”
High chief Aminu bizi added that, Bizi Mobile has 20,000 agents, and with about 100,000 members of mobile money operators of Nigeria, they will work together in creating accounts for Northerners.
The chairman also appealed to stakeholders especially goverment, banking industry, captains of industries and organizations to cooperate with Bizi Mobile in achieving the needs/target of Central Bank of vision 2020 financial inclusion.
