We Will Not Tolerate Lawlessness From Proscribed ‘Shi’ites’ Group, Police Warns

The Nigeria Police Force  Kaduna State Command has warned that it would not tolerate any form of lawlessness from proscribed Islamic Movement in Nigeria (IMN), popularly known as Shi’ites.
This was conveyed in a statement signed by the PPRO, ASP Aliyu Mukhtar, dated January 8, 2018,  made available to AUTHENTIC News Daily on Monday.
“The Nigeria Police Force Kaduna State Command wishes to inform the general public that the Islamic Movement in Nigeria has been proscribed and therefore any activity that is intended  to disrupt peaceful coexistence and free movement of citizens of the state shall not be tolerated,” it stated.
The statement said that it was in view of that that some used suspected to be members of IMN who converged on Ibrahim Taiwo Road within Kaduna metropolis on Sunday January 7, 2018 were speedily dispersed when information reached the command’s authorities.
It explained that though a policeman was injured during the melee that ensued, no life was lost.
“It is therefore advised that law abiding citizens should go about their lawful businesses without hindrance as adequate security measures have been put in place to ensure their safety,” it added.
The statement advised law abiding citizens to be vigilant and report any suspicious movements to relevant law enforcement agencies.
