We Will Fight Outbreaks With Vigour, Niger Govt Assures As FG Donates Fire Fighting Engine

The Federal Government on Thursday donated a brand new fire fighting engine to Niger State Government as part of its intervention to states experiencing frequent infernos and conflagrations within their territories.
Governor Abubakar Sani Bello regretted that frequent fire incidents in parts of the state have led to huge economic losses and in some cases loss of lives.
He said the state government had in it’s determination to arrest and mitigate the situation, acquired fire fighting engines and directed the state Fire Service Department to recruit 150 fire men to boost the fire fighting squad of the state.
Governor Sani Bello while receiving the new fire fighting engine, commended the federal government for the gesture and assured that the equipment would go a long way in boosting the capacity of the state to quell any inferno in parts of the state.
He noted that federal government’s intervention was a huge support in complimenting the state government’s effort in fighting fire. “This is a big donation which will go a long way in complimenting our efforts in fighting fire” he said.
The governor revealed that all the fire service stations in parts of the state were rehabilitated and empowered to discharge their duties well.
The Federal Assistant Comptroller, Fire Service, Musa Sunday Abiola who delivered the fire fighting engine, disclosed that Niger state was listed by the federal government to benefit from the twenty fire engines ordered by the federal government as assistance to some state.
The Federal Assistant Conptroller of Fire, said the donation was in recognition of the efforts of the state in fighting infernos in the state.
He acknowledged the encouraging support and assistance governor Sani Bello has been giving the state fire service. “Your efforts in improving the fortunes of fire service in your state is Well noted” he said.
Abiola advised the state government to ensure proper maintenance of the fire engine.
