We Are Planning Ahead For Future Generations, El-Rufai Tells Religious Leaders

Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State on Thursday, assured the people of the state of their policies  on planning for the future generations on education.

The Governor, Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai who was represented by his Deputy, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex, made this known on Thursday  when he met with religious leaders drawn from Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN) and Jama’atu Nasirul Islam (JNI) from the 23 local government areas of the state, on the need to preach peaceful coexistence in the state during the Inter-religious  Harmony Committee meeting held at General Hassan Usman Katsina House in Kaduna.

According to el-Rufai, every parent wants the best for their children, the state government’s interest in restructuring the education sector is for the betterment of the children in future.

He called on  the religious leaders to  make use of their responsibilities  and fight those behind the evil forces against the peace of the state.

He advised the people of goodwill to join hands with their religious leaders to tackle  issues that might lead to conflicts, he said he would continue to fight those behind the peace of the state.

He thanked the  inter-religious leaders for their efforts toward the sustenance of peace in the state.

In a remark, Director General, Interfaith, Namadi M. Musa, said the religious Harmony Committee was established to serve as a common platform for the adherent of the two main religions Christian and Islam to interact for mutual understanding and harmonious coexistence among its faithfuls.

He said, their agenda is a call to the followers of both religions to embrace peace, love and unity for the development of the state.

He explained that members must educate their followers on the dangers of hate speeches, incitements and actions capable of creating divisions.

He urged all participants  to pray for the continued peace and prosperity in the state and Nigeria in general.

He thanked the state government led by Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai for the moral and financial support for the meeting to hold.

The meeting was gracefully attended by the chairmen and Secretaries of CAN and JNI from all 23 local government areas of the state.
