Governor Nasir Ahmad el-Rufai of Kaduna State on Wednesday said the ongoing digital jobs workshop is part of the state government’s plans to foster a booming digital economy.
The Governor expressed this at the end of the 3-day extensive workshop held at Kaduna State University (KASU) in Kaduna.
The Governor congratulated the participants, as they had applied into the programme on merit.
“Kaduna welcomes everyone and you should consider yourselves to be at home,” he said .
He assured them of being globally competitive and ICT experts at the end of their workshop as they can now compete with anyone in the world.
The governor wished them greater trips to their various destinations when they are done.
He commended the Rockefeller Foundation and Digital Nigeria who financed the Programme with the support of the World Bank.
The programne has 900 participants that have access to job opportunities in the virtual economy and is aimed at training youths on how to utilise digital platforms to promote businesses and to earn income.
