The Deputy Governor of Kaduna State, Architect Barnabas Bala Bantex on Wednesday said that it is their responsibility to secure lives and property of their citizens.

Architect  Barnabas Bala Bantex  explained this, when he received on courtesy visit, the Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai at the Council Chambers of the Government House, in Kaduna.

He said it was a great privilege to be the one who  received them at the council chambers, as the state Governor is unavoidable outside  the country assuring them that they would be received by the state Governor in future.

He stressed that according to the constitution, it is their responsibility as the state government to keep the environment peaceful, and they’re glad  that, the military has contributed a lot to work assidiously to ensure peace in the country.

He said the new GOC who  just came in  has acted so swiftly by working with the state government to tackle the issue of Kajuru.

“Specifically,  we thank you for bringing back peace, through full military battalion in Kafanchan, Kajuru, and Birnin Gwari areas.

“The government is working hard to bring back peace where people can drive freely within the areas,” he said.

He assured them of the state government’s readiness to support the military,  adding that they have gone a long way to restore peace in the roads and people living in those areas.

He reminded them that, in 2015, the criminal activities of banditry was a thing of concern, but they came together with the military and  tackled the insecurity issue at that time and  forced out the Boko Haram.

Bantex assured that, the state government is ready to embrace whatever it will  take them to tackle the issue of insecurity, kidnapping, most especially around  the Birnin Gwari axis.

In his remarks, the leader of the delegation, Chief of Army Staff, Lt Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai said,  he was glad to pay his own respect to the state Governor.

He explained that he was in Kaduna to attend the  Chief of Army Conference and Combat Training Week for 2019 held in Jaji Kaduna.

He explained that, it is an activity of Nigeria Army even though it is being hosted in Kaduna.

He said he is fully aware that Kaduna State is a cradle of all Nigeryia Army for  training both the soldiers in Zaria and Nigerian Defence Academy  here in the state capital.

He commended the Kaduna State Government towards  contributions of logistics in form of vehicles  towards guaranteeing a successful conference and they were grateful.

He assured the state government of working with other security agencies to tackle the issue of insecurity,  cattle rustling,  and kidnappings in the state.

Tukur disclosed that,  the state government has concluded arrangements towards  transformation of the military formations based in Kafachan and Birnin Gwari to full Army battalions.

He informed that they are working with the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies by putting more efforts to ensure that the criminal elements are uprooted from  the country.

“You would recall that,  we have launched the military battalion which will soon be enforced in due course,” he said.
