We Are Committed To Educational Development In Adamawa, LG Boss Assures

In the quest to empower and support the youth who are the leaders of tomorrow, in their academic pursuit, the management of Fofure Local Government of Adamawa State has paid educational scholarship to one hundred (100) indigenes across tertiary institutions in the state.
Executive chairman of the council, Barrister Aliyu Wakili Boya while presenting the scholarship support to the students in Fufore, maintained that it was his administration’s way of fulfilling campaign promises to the people of his council.
Boya said the gesture was to encourage qualified  students in the area to concentrate on their education as it was the only key to a bright future.
The Chairman, who was represented by the chairman of the Boya scholarship Programme, Alhaji Saidu Sali, said 50 of the students undergoing diploma programme were given N10,000 each, while the other 50 undergoing degree programmes were given N20, 000 each.
Speaking at the occasion, the District Head of Fufore, Alhaji Abubakar Mahmud, lauded the initiative and urged other elected officials to emulate it.
He charged the beneficiaries to reciprocate the gesture by being more dedicated to their studies
In a related development,  Aliyu Wakili Boya Education Initiative, has paid for this year’s WAEC and JAMB for 104 selected students including the physically challenged.
A statement from the Coordinator of the NGO, Umar Modibbo, said the beneficiaries were selected from the seven local government areas of Fufore, Yola South, Yola North, Girei, Song, Gombi and Hong in the central zone.
Moddibbo said the student comprised 14 physically challenged, 45 best male students and 45 best female students.
According to him, the gesture funded by the chairman of Fufore Local Government Council, Boya was to complement the state of emergency declared on education by the Governor Muhammadu Umar Jibrilla Bindow’s administration.
Modibbo  urged beneficiaries to make Boya proud by concentrating on their studies and passing their exams with flying colours.
He also reiterated the commitment of the NGO to supporting government effort to transformed education in Adamawa state.
