Unlawful Possession Of Firearms, Impersonation Land 2 In Police Net

The inability of a middle age man to give a satisfactory account of how he came about the possession of one K2 Automatic rifle with 26 rounds of live ammunition and impersonationation has landed two suspects in police net in Lagos.
While one of the suspects identified as Sunday Owoicho, 42 years,  was nabbed over alleged illegally possession of
firearm and impersonation, the other one named Sunday Joseph was held for impersonation.
While confirming the arrest, the Commissioner of Police Lagos Command, Edgal Imohimi said the suspect was arrested on 28th of September 2018 by operatives of the command in charge of recovery of illegal/ prohibited firearms.
He alleged that the suspect also used the same weapon to rob  innocent citizens of their valuables at different times.
Edgal,who asserted that the suspect illegally acquired the prohibited weapon, he added that investigation revealed that
the suspect had been impersonating as a law enforcement officer and at various times.
In the case of Sunday Joseph, 43 years, Edgal said he had been impersonating as a traffic police officer at Oshodi and been extorting unsuspecting motorists in the area.
To make himself credible, the Police boss said the suspect usually adorns a green colour combat trousers and a black T-Shirt.
He disclosed  that one Jack Knife and a Tear Gas Canisters were recovered from the suspect.
The Police Commissioner hinted that the command has commenced  investigation into the case with a view to expose other members of  his gang and those aiding and abating him in the crime world.
” On the 28/09/2018, the operatives of the Command charged with the responsibility of recovering illegal/prohibited firearms, arrested one Sunday Owoicho, 42 years, who was found with one K2 automatic rifle with 26 rounds of live ammunition.
During interrogation, it was revealed that the suspect had been impersonating as a law enforcement officer and at various times, robbed innocent citizens by means of the arm in his possession.
Investigation is ongoing to unearth his gang members and those aiding and abating him in the crime world.
Similarly, the Command arrested one Sunday Joseph, 43 years, who had been impersonating as a traffic police officer at Oshodi and has been extorting unsuspecting motorists in the area.  To make himself credible, he adorns green colour combat trousers and a black T-Shirt.
