UNICEF, NOA Holds PMTCT, AYP Meeting With Kaduna Media Executives, Reporters

The United Nations Children Fund (UNICEF) in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has held a One-day Media Executives, Reporters and Producers Meeting on Preventing Mother to Child Transmission (PMTCT) and Adolescents and Young Persons (AYP) Support in Kaduna State in Zaria on Friday, August 10, 2018.

Objectives of the meeting include to update the knowledge of the media executives, reporters and producers on  AYP/HIV situation in Kaduna State.

“To review progress of media organisations in Kaduna State in supporting the dissemination of AYP/HIV AIDS messages.

“To leverage airtime for dissemination of AYP/HIV AIDS messages.

“To develop media plans by the participating media houses for implementation.”

In a goodwill message from UNICEF’s Communication Officer, Kaduna, Rabiu Musa, he  said that the long gap between the organization and the media needs to be closed.

He explained that the UNICEF would love to hear from the media, what they have been able to do on AYP since the last meeting in December.

He wished the participants good deliberations which he said he expects to be participatory.
