Two Notorious Kidnappers Nabbed In Niger

After a gun duel between men of the anti kidnapping squad of the Police in Niger state with a gang of kidnappers, two of the hoodlums were arrested, one fatally wounded and scores others escaped with gunshot injuries, the Police in the state have disclosed.
The Police said the gang of kidnappers had accosted a man and his daughter during an attack and shot one of their victims in Rafi local government area of Niger state.
The kidnappers numbering about fifteen had dragged their hapless victims but were waylaid by the Police anti kidnapping squad who had responded to a distress call from concerned citizen.
Following the exchange of fire, the two, Yusuf Adamu and Ibrahim Abubakar were nabbed while the other members of the gang escaped.
The Police Public Relations Officer of the Niger State Police Command, Assistant Supritendent of Police, (ASP), Mohamned Dan Inna Abubakar said in a statement that the armed kidnappers had on sighting the Police, began to fire their weapons and during the exchange of fire, the Police deployed their superior fire power forcing the criminal gang to take to their heels.
The two kidnappers, Yusuf Adamu is 20 years old while Ibrahim Abubakar is 27 years old. The two are from Zurumai area of Zamfara State and Pandogori area of Rafi local government area of Niger state respectively according to the Police.
The suspects are currently helping the Police in it’s investigations to apprehend the fleeing members of the gang.
The two kidnapped victims have been set free while the camp of the gang of  the kidnappers was destroyed.
