Traditional Ruler dies in armed robbery operation

A Village Head in Gassol Chiefdom of Taraba state was killed by armed robbers along Sabon Gida -Nanguru road, Sunday evening.
The victim Bala Nabath, Village Head of Shamaki was shot on the back when he ran into the gang who mounted road block during their operation which was said to have lasted several hours.
He was said to be travelling along with his family to a wedding ceremony in a village in Bali Local Government Area.
Bala was rushed to a hospital in Tella village where he was confirmed dead as a result of excessive bleeding.
The armed robbers it was gathered carted away 7 motorcycles and millions of Naira belonging to cattle dealers who were returning from Tella weekly market.
The Chairman, Gassol Local Government Council, Alhaji Tukura Bashiru when contacted confirmed the incident.
According to him, Sabon Gida-Nanguru, Sansani-Sabon Gida and Sansani-Dinya routes were under the siege of armed bandits.
Alhaji Tukura called on Taraba State Government to establish a joint Police –vigilante team to patrol  the routes on twenty four basis.
