Three In Police Net For Armed Robbery, Illegal Possession Of Firearms

Three suspected notorious armed robbers are now cooling their frets in Police custody in Lagos over their alleged involvement in armed robbery and illegal possession of firearms.
The suspects, identified as Taofeek Oluwande, Olayode Fashina and Sunday Isah were said to have been arrested at different parts of the state in December last year.
The Commissioner of Police Lagos Command Edgal Imohimi who confirmed the arrest Thursday during a media briefing said the duo of Taofeek Oluwande and Oloyede Fashina were members of a robbery gang that has been terrorising innocent residents of Igando and its environ.
Edgal said Taofeek was arrested by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti at about 10.30am last December, with an axe recovered from him, while Oloyede was nabbed on 20th December, 2017 at DP petrol station after a manhunt.
He added that Oloyede confessed to have participated in several robbery attacks and also a buyer of stolen goods.
The Police commissioner disclosed that one Baretta pistol, a double barrel gun, two pump action riffle, 13 live cartridges and one battle axe were recovered from him.
According to him, Sunday Isah and members of his gang had robbed one Omoruyi Endurance of his valuable property worth seven million Naira.
Edgal added that one English made Bryco 38380 automatic pistol and ammunition were recovered from him.
He assumed that efforts are in top gear to apprehend other members of the gang.
The police boss therefore appealed to members of the public to be vigilant at all times, saying all hands must be on deck to make the state secure.
