Threat to peace: Oyo ‘Operation Burst’ arrests NURTW factional Chairman, 3 others with guns, army uniform

Oyo state security outfit, “Operation Burst” on Saturday arrested a Chieftain of the National Union of Road Transporter Workers (NURTW) in Saki town, Alhaji Kazeem Aderibigbe over alleged threat to public peace and illegal possession of arms.
The NURTW chieftain was arrested  together with his personal security guard identified as Akeem Kolapo, his watch- night guard Nasiru Oyebisi and the NURTW Ajegunle motor park night guard Ibraheem Olubuse.
It was learnt that Aderibigbe said to be the suspended Chairman of National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Saki inter- state branch was arrested at early hours of Saturday at his residence, Challenge Area, Saki with the three other suspects.
New Nigerian gathered that items allegedly recovered from the suspects included one single barrel gun, one pistol, a cutlass, cartridges, Indian hemp weighing two kilogram, a lots of syringes and needles and two army uniform camouflages.
Parading the suspects at the Operation Burst Office along Oje-Owode road, Saki , the Commanding Officer of 244 Recce Batalion, Asabari Barracks, Saki, Major I.O Muhammed declared that the suspects were arrested following a tip off that the Kazeem led-faction of NURTW was threatening to cause mayhem in Saki following his removal as Local Government Security Committee headed by the council Chairman , Hon Kareem Kasali Adegoke.
He disclosed that all the suspects have been handed over to the police for further investigation and prosecution.
