Health students in tertiary institutions in Plateau State are yet to receive bursary from the state government for over ten years
Newly elected national president, National Association of Plateau State Studentsn(NAPSS), Pankop Jilang stated this in Jos at the inauguration ceremony of the newly election executives to run the affairs of the group for the next one year in College of Health Technology Zawan.
Jilang decried the neglect of the health students for the past ten years and their bursary allowance of the health students are yet to be paid.
He expressed surprise and bitterness over the way and manner successive administrations have neglected the health students.
Wondering why government is not interested in their case, he further said as the new President of NAPSS, his first priority is to see that their bursary is released and paid to them.
” I recall that these health students are the ones that takes care of our health and as such their welfare should be the government top priority,” he added.
The newly elected president also expressed regrets over the neglect of the body by Plateau State indigenes who have gone through the walls of the university and have continued to show less concern over the association
Jilang appealed to the state government and other spirited individuals in the state to rescue the association.
He condemned the actions of some people in the state known as Jos States Body, who claim to be representatives of NAPSS and go about extorting money from people.
