Teams participating in the 16th edition of the annual Bishop Mike Okonkwo Tournament which enters day four on Saturday have been charged to be disciplined through out the duration of the foremost youth football development programme.
Chairman of the Local Organising Committee (LOC), Deacon Malachy Ndubuzor explained that the competition over the years has been noted for its’ competitiveness and fairness and as such there is need for the 72 participating teams to maintain the momentum.
“As we progress in the tournament, there is need to advice all the 64 male and 8 female teams to play to the rules of the championship and avoid any act capable of bringing the tournament to disrepute,” he said.
Meanwhile in some of the matches decided in Day 3 of the competition, Rehoboth played a goalless draw with Higher Ground FC, while Young Star recorded a 2-0 win over Songhai FC with Potters FC beating Ojahidili Farm FC 3-0.
The pairings for this weekend are, Soccer Stars vs Victory FC, Sunny FC vs Sporting FA, Team 360 FC vs Kakaki FC, while Dockland FC will meet United Ajax FC.
