Tanker Fire claims one live, destroys property in Zaria

Tanker explosion claimed one life and burnt down Danmagaji Divisional Police Headquarters in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The incident occurred at about 10.30pm on Saturday when a tanker coming from Kaduna fell near a Post Office very closely to the Police Station located at the Zaria bye pass.
When the tanker caught fire, the content started flowing directly to the police station premises and the fire escalated to the extent of burning down the whole station along side 15 vehicles parked within the premises.
Other property affected includes a Mosque and motorcycles while all the trees that provide shade to the station were burnt.
The only person that lost his life has been buried at his village Kugu in Dutsen Abba District of Zaria Local Government.
During the incident many patients who are on addimission at Muslim Specialist Hospital were thrown into confussion as they scamper for safety thinking that the fire will reach them.
Speaking to newsmen shortly after inspecting the scene of the incident, the Kaduna State Police Commissioner Mr. Agyole Abeh condoled the families that lost their loved one as well sympathised with the Police for the incident.
Mr. Abeh promised to take the matter up with the appropriate authority for action to be taken as well to meet the stakeholders for quick solutions.
He assured the communities of the area that they will solicit for a temporary office for effective services to humanity and security in the area.
