SWAN President Donates Trophy In Honour Of Late Eddy Bekom

The National President of the Sports Writers’ Association of Nigeria (SWAN)
Honour Sirawoo, has donated a trophy to be competed for by sports journalist in Cross River and South-South Zone in honour of the late National Vice President South- South, late Comrade Eddy Bekom.
Late Bekom died in active service last year.
Donating the trophy to Cross River chapter of SWAN, Sirawoo who was
represented by a member of the Editorial Board of Glimmer Newspaper and a lecturer at the University of Port-Harcourt, Dr. Asuquo Ekanem, said the donation of the trophy was in fulfillment of a promise made by the National President to immortalized the legacy of the late sport enthusiasts for his contributions in sporting development in the Nigeria.
“Eddy Bekom contributed significantly to sports development in Cross River and Nigeria and so there must be something to remember him for his efforts and contribution”.
Receiving the trophy on behalf of Cross River chapter of  SWAN, the state chairman Albert Andinam, thanked the National President for redeeming his pledge of donating the trophy to immortalized our late sage Eddy Bekom  for his contributions to sports development.
According to him, the trophy is in save hands and will be competed for in a date to be announced among sports journalists in the zone.
Andinam appealed to the Cross River government to urgently complete all
ongoing projects at the U.J. Esuene stadium to pave way for the National Sports Festival which the state is to play host this year.
Acting National Vice President South-South Zone,(SWAN) Charles Eniang
commended the vision of the National President for donating the trophy because of Eddy contributions to SWAN.
