Support, Protect Sunshine Stars FC, Commissioner Tells Supporters Club

Sunshine Stars Supporters Club has received a new set of musical and cheering instruments from the Aquinas College Akure Old Students Association (ACAOSA) 83 – 89 set.
The President of ACAOSA 83 to 89 set, Comrade Temitope Famuti, made the presentation of the instruments which included talking drums, sekere and vuvuzelas to the supporters through the state Governor, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu who was represented by the commissioner for commerce and industry, Chief Timileyin Adelegbe.
During the presentation at the State Box of the Sports Complex in Akure, Famuti stated that the gesture was geared towards empowering the supporters club of Sunshine Stars Football Club in a show of solidarity with one of their own, Saka Yusuf Ogunleye who is the commissioner for sports.
While reacting, Chairman of Sunshine Stars Supporters Club, Emmanuel Oduyi expressed appreciation to the Ondo state Government for the appointment of the new Commssioner and the new ODSFA chairman while hailing the unprecedented initiative of the ACA alumni.
The chairman of the Ondo State Football Agency (ODSFA) who was on ground for the presentation alongside the general manager of the State Sports Council, Mrs Idowu Akinbulumo lauded the initiative and expressed gratitude to the Sunshine Stars organised supporters group for their unwavering support for the the team.
While speaking, Saka Ogunleye thanked his old school mates for the procurements of the instruments and assured the supporters of more empowerment as he reiterated government readiness to develop sports in the state.
 “I thank my old school mates who have decided to support me in this way as commissioner for sports and I want to assure you more of this will come your way. The government of Ondo State is more than ready develop sports and engage the youth actively”.
While speaking on behalf of the Governor, Adelegbe commended  ACAOSA 83 – 89 for the provision of the instruments and urged the supporters to resist any group or act capable of bringing Sunshine Stars in bad light.
 “You as supporters must protect Sunshine Stars from hooligans. It is your team and if the team get banished again, then it is a minus to you. So you don’t only support your team but protect it.
 “And let me add here again, the government is passionate about sports development and we are going to bring back the good days of school sports.” The governor said.
Sunshine Stars face Abia Warriors in Umuahia on Sunday in 2017/18 Nigerian professional Football League match day five tie.
