The National President of Movement for National Accommodation and Consensus for Continuity (MONACCO), Alhaji Salisu Isah Gusau has urged the people of Akwa Ibom state to support the bid by Senator Godswill Akpabio of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to reclaim his stolen mandate.
The MONACCO President made the call while addressing a press conference in Gusau on Friday.
Gusau described Akpabio as one of the greatest son of Akwa Ibom state who friends and connections cut across all religious and tribal divides in the country, hence the need for him to be supported to reclaim his mandated which was stolen through election rigging and malpractice during the 23rd February, Presidential/National Assembly election in the state.
“It is equally Paramount to note that the victory for Senator Godswill Akpabio is the victory for the people of Akwa Ibom state. Likewise, the great Akpabio deserves their support to be in NASS, this because he has been the pillar and lifeline of the APC in Akwa Ibom in particular and Niger Delta in general”, he said.
Gusau said as a member of the Friends Godswill Akpabio based in the north, believes that Akpabio was rigged out because of his bright chance of becoming the next senate President.
“With political alignments and realignments and conspiracy between and among both APC and opposition PDP, systematically rigged out Akpabio to deny him victory in the national assembly election. This is because, most of the bigwigs in the South are intimidated with the potentials and credentials of Senator Akpabio that may grant him the leadership of the Senate”, he said.
The MONACCO president said though the enemies may conspire to rig Akpabio out but they cannot stop him from reclaiming the stolen mandate.
