Sunshine Volley Ball Team to represent Nigeria in Congo Brazzille

Sunshine Brothers Volley Ball of Ondo State beat Pros Spicars Volley Ball Team of Kogi State 3 – 0 to emerge the Volley Ball champion for the year 2015.
The keenly contested week long competition which turned out to be the only competition for the year 2015, was organized by Ondo State Sports Council in collaboration with Jegede family in remembrance of their Late patriarch Chief  J. B. Jegede.
Eight States, Ondo, Ogun, Lagos, Edo, Osun, Oyo, Kogi and Niger participated in the competition which started on December 14 and ended on December 17, 2015 took place at the main bowl of Akure Sports stadium.
The overall winner of the competition, Sunshine Brothers Volley Ball of Ondo State had been nominated by the Nigeria Volley Ball Federation to represent Nigeria at the Olympic qualifiers in Congo Brazzaville as from January 5, 2016.
 
Commenting on the achievements, the Volleyball Coach in Ondo State, Pastor Adekalu Adeniyi gave kudos to the Jegede family especially the Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Hon. Eyitayo Jegede and the Chairman, Ondo State Sports Council, Hon. Gbenga Jegede for picking Volleyball as the game to commemorate the passing to glory of their Late father Chief J. B. Jegede.
Pastor Adekalu also commended the family for exposing the boys to a greater level in spite of the economy situation in the country.
 
His words, “they are not selfish, they have the mind of taking the boys off the streets to an international standard, they should not stop the good work they had started, players are hungry for championship and Jegede family had satisfied their yearnings, may the Lord remember the family for good in the years ahead”.
 
He however assured that the boys will give a good account of themselves at Congo, having played similar competitions at Bamako, Mali and Cote Devoure where they won the Nation’s Cup.
 
In separate interviews, Hon Eyitayo Jegede and Gbenga Jegede assured that the competition shall continue to be an annual event since Volleyball has been the game of the family for ages.
