The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU) have lost confidence on the Minster of Labour and Productivity, Chief Chris Ngige and called for his removal.
Comrade Hadiza Kabir Ali National Women Leader of the association who stated this in an interview with Journalists in Zaria, said the minister lacks the capability of remaining on that position.
She added that, SSANU is suspecting the minister for not briefing Mr. President on all the developments particularly the outcome of their meetings with labour leaders.
Hadiza who described the situation as an important step taken by the NLC to embark on the nationwide strike.
She expressed appreciation to all institutions in the area for total compliance particularly Ahmadu Bello University, and financial institutions and other educational institutions .
Our correspondent in the area reports that Nigerian College of Aviation Technology Zaria, Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology, NILEST, NARICT, FCE Zaria, NAPRI Shika among the institutions that have complied with the NLC directive by closing there entrance gates and staying at home.
Reacting to the national strike, some concerned citizens have expressed concerns that it will add an injury to an injury from the current hardship people are going through.
They call on the Federal Government to as a matter of urgency settle with the Labour leaders to end the strike immediately for the socioeconomic growth and development in the country.
According to them, the strike will deal a major blow on Nigeria and a heavy loss to its revenue generation.
