Following fresh attacks on two communities of Jema’a Local Government Area, with five people gruesomely killed in Nindem Community of Godogodo Chiefdom on Friday night 22nd December, 2017 and six murdered in cold blood in Ungwan Mailafiya in Kwagiri District of Gwong Chiefdom, Southern Kaduna youth have called on Governor Nasir el-Rufai to resign for his inability to protect lives and property.
Speaking through the SOKAPU Youth President, Dr. Nasiru Adams Jagaba during a peaceful protest with placards saying: How much did you pay our killers, we won’t agree to be killed every Christmas, stop paying terrorist, el-Rufai  knows our killers, stop compensating terrorists among several others at Kafanchan Roundabout on 30th December, 2017, he said, “we’re here to protest on the continuous gruesome killings and destruction of properties of our own people in Southern Kaduna.”
According to him, “we can imagine Governor Nasiru el-Rufai who is the chief security officer of the state that has every information regarding security why should our people continue to count dead bodies everyday without a single person being arrested regarding this menace?
“We are here to show the world enough is enough we cannot afford to lose any single life. Let the Governor resign he has failed woefully as a leader and from his primary responsibility.”
He maintained that el-Rufai is not doing enough to end the security challenges in Southern Kaduna.
“If enough measures have been put in place the attacks will not continue. The government had security intelligence that was why he was able to pay herdsmen that have been killings us. We demand to know how much he paid them and he should bring them out to face the wrath of the law.” The SOKAPU Youth president declared.
On his part, co-ordinator of Nehemiah Camp Pastor Gideon Mutum said,” we are still counting our dead people, counting our loses and paying hospital bills without any single support from the government and as youth, we can’t sit down. We are raising the right atmosphere and the right consciousness let the world know that those that are killing us are still killing us.
“Every single life in Southern Kaduna counts and we don’t even know when enough is really enough. And we are taking an aggressive action to let the world know that lives and property in Southern Kaduna are still been lost.
According to him, “The efforts of the government towards curtailing the attacks are just plastic. Money is been voted for but it is not manifesting that the money voted for security to protect us is yielding any fruits. It is a known fact that every festive period we are being attack and killed.”
