Members of the State House of Assembly elected on the platform of the All Progressives Congress APC in Sokoto State have boycotted the ongoing retreat organised by the management of the State House of Assembly for legistlators- elect in Kaduna.
A source at the venue of the retreat in Kaduna where the opening ceremony is ongoing confirmed that members-ellect on the platform of the APC were missing at the retreat.
A source said though some of the legislators elect were not happy with the development, but we’re forced to accept the decision allegedly coming from the leader of the APC in the state and former Governor of the state Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko.
The retreat is expected to prepare legislators for the legislative task ahead as new members who have little or no knowledge of legislative duties expected from them for the next four years are elected
Sokoto State House of Assembly has thirty members elect and fourteen of the thirty legislators belong to the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) while the All Progressives Congress have sixteen members.
The APC in Sokoto State is challenging the victory of the PDP at the governorship election tribunal and has assured it’s members the party will emerged victorious at the tribunal.
