A former gubernatorial candidate in Kaduna State, Alhaji Muhammad Sani Sha’aban, the Danburau Zazzau, has cautioned elected leaders on the need to fear Allah and do what is vested on them in the services they promised to during their campaigns for election.
Alhaji Sha’aban who made the statement while reacting to the political pressure mounted on the elected leaders in the name of opposition, which he said is not right, in an interview with journalists in Zaria.
He cited an example of Kaduna State which he said, the government is doing its best, but it needs to do more.
According to him, Kaduna State has no reason to cry on economic crunch because it has all the potentials and revenue sources that can sustain the state even without federal allocation.
The politician and a traditional title holder advised government to utilize the human and mineral resources in the state in generating funds for all developmental programme it designed to execute as it promised the electorate while seeking their mandates.
He cautioned politicians who are opposing the government to always make their criticism constructive and issue-based and not on selfish position.
He lamented the way and manner elected people do forget all the campaign promises made to the electorate immediately they assumed office as elected leaders and become different individuals which he said is affecting politics greatly.
On the increasing numbers of unemployed youth, Sha’aban said government should do something urgently that would engage them in order to avoid the unprepared tension that may become something else which no one is praying for to happen.
“Government should engage all our unemployed youths into farming both dry and rainy season farming so that they can be free from involving themselves into anything of social vices” he advised.
The traditional title holder congratulated the Emir of Zazzau, Alhaji Shehu Idris and his council members as well as all the Muslim communities in Nigeria for the successful Ramadan fasting and Sallah celebration which was peaceful.
