The Senator representing Kaduna South Senatorial District, Senator (Dr.) Danjuma Tella La’ah, the Shettiman Kagoro, has won the PDP senatorial primaries in the early hours of Wednesday, with 593 votes against 362 votes polled by his party brother, Hon. Jagaba Adams Jagaba, who represents Kachia-Kagarko Federal Constituency.
The victory of Senator Danjuma La’ah in the primaries, has not only set the tone for election proper, but has set to break the tradition of the zone, which shows that since 1999, no senator from the area has gone twice, to the red chamber of the National Assembly.
What is responsible for the setting or breaking this record? It is not unconnected with the fact that Danjuma La’ah has proven to be a true Democrat, the person who dedicated his life and resources, to the service of his people, and is leading his constituents without discrimination on the basis of either religion, ethnic or geo-political sentiments.
It is a fact that not only representing PDP in the Red chamber from Kaduna State, but the entire North-West Geo-political zone; indeed he is a bridge builder, that should be rewarded.
When his constituents suffered various insurgency attacks, he did not only use his personal resources to feed the displaced and indigent, but those injured, he settled their hospital bills, aside leading members of the two chambers of the national assembly to make assessment of the attacks in affected area across the country, especially his constituency and made clarion calls, to the Executive Arm, to rise to curb the lingering insurgencies.
His victory to become PDP flag bearer in the 2019 general election, has not only shown that is Constituents, and as well as PDP have come to recognized and reward, hard and good work, and good leadership, a legacy, If well advocated and sustained, would deepen democracy and encourage good governance.
Senator La’ah has embarked on skills and entrepreneur development for women and youth of his constituency, aside from wooing infrastructural development, establishment of schools, facilitated employment of many, aside contributing to peace building process, which earned him the patronship of the Community Peace Partnership (CPP), Jema’a Local Government chapter, an NGO that is devoted to partnering government and other civil society groups at ensuring peaceful co-existence, unity, progress and good governance.
