Senator Enoch Visits Cameroon Refugee Camp

Senator representing Cross River central, Senator John Owan Enoh, has assured Cameroon refugees in the state of adequate security from the state and federal government.
Enoh gave the assurance during a visit to the Cameroon refugee camp in Agbokim, in Etung local government area of the state.
The law maker who acknowledged the circumstances which led to their relocation to Nigerian border communities said this is a concern not only to Nigeria but the international community and prayed for the quick resolution of the crisis in their home country to enable them return in peace.
He stated this while addressing a traumatized crowd of over 1000 asylum seekers and assured that he would endeavour to activate a machinery of government to deliver relief materials to them.
Enoh told them to remain law abiding and be resilient with the challenges currently faced in good faith as their matter would be appropriately addressed.
He commended the host communities where the refugees were being  camped for their show of hospitality and called for sustenance.
About 15,000 Cameroon refugees are residing in six border communties in four local government areas namely Ikom, Etung, Boki and Obanliku respectively.
Earlier the zonal coordinator of NEMA South South, Martins Udoinya, who visited the camps recently assured  them of quick intervention.
