Comrade Hassan Adamu-led executive committee members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) in Kaduna State has dragged its national chairman, Chief Olu Falae, SDP, Movement for New Political Order, INEC and others before Justice Zainab Abubakar of the Federal High Court, Kaduna for creating a parallel committee members of the party in the state contrary to the party’s constitution and extant laws and regulations.
Comrade Hassan Adamu and others, through their legal counsel, Barrister Abubakar Badamasi moved a motion exparte before the Federal High Court and was ordered to serve the originating processes to the other parties.
The executive committee members are seeking a declaration that Social Democratic Party conducts a congress on 6th December, 2014 wherein the plaintiffs emerged as elected state executive committee members of the party is valid and subsisting for a tenure of four years effective from 6th December, 2014 consistent with the provision of the constitution and guidelines of the party.
Comrade Hassan Adamu and others are also seeking a declaration that the intended conduct of state congress of the party for Kaduna State during the currency of the tenure of the plaintiffs is nullified for being in fragrant violation of the constitution and guidelines of the party.
The executive committee members of the party are seeking an order of injunction restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), from accepting and or recognizing the present officials as executive committee members of the party during the currency of the tenure of the former officials as executive committee members of the party.
27th November, 2018 has been fixed for the hearing of the case.
