The former chairman of Sumaila Local Government Council, Alhaji Abdulhamid Idris Rimi has denied an allegation that he hired hoodlums to assassinate the special assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on National Assembly matters, Hon. Sulaiman Abdulrahman Kawu Sumaila during APC governorship primary election held on Sunday.
He denied the allegation in an interview with our correspondent shortly after the primaries, where he disclosed that what Kawu Sumaila said was not true and there was never any attempt to disrupt the peacefull primaries at Sumaila, and announced that it was Kawu’s supporters that attacked his people at the venue which resulted in injuring many people for his selfish political aim which is against democratic practice.
Alhaji Abdulhamid Rimi added that politics is all about winning or failure therefore, what Kawu Sumaila’s people did is not in order and must be investigated to control such bad behaviour for peace and unity to reign in Sumaila Local Government and for democracy to progress in the society.
He called on the good people of Sumaila Local Government Area to abide by the rules and regulations for more peaceful co-existence in the area and Kano State in general.
Alhaji Abdulhamid Idris Rimi stressed that “the assassination allegation by Kawu Sumaila is not true and “i am a highly respected individual who is playing politics with extra care and our supporters are law abiding they can never be used as political thugs in any situation whether negative or positive,” he concluded.
