‘Rely on the power of God Almighty’ – Minister designate urges new Ooni
By; BAYO AKAMO, Ibadan
The Minister-designate from Oyo State, Barrister Adebayo Shittu has advised the  Ooni-elect, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi to be focused and rely on the power of God the Almighty to succeed.
Barrister Shittu stated this in his congratulatory message to the Ooni-elect made available to journalists in Ibadan and signed by Mr Victor Oluwadamilare on his behalf .
He declared the Ooni elect; Oba Adeyeye Eniitan Ogunwusi found favour of the Almighty God to have emerged among the numerous Princes that jostled for the exalted and enviable position.
Shittu charged  the new royal father to remain himself and take time to understudy the tradition of the cradle of Yoruba as well as to marry such knowledge with the dynamism of the modern trend towards engendering development for the ancient city of Ile Ife.
“The Ooni-elect has gotten a huge responsibility on his lap at such a relatively young age and he needs all the support he can garner to carry the heavy load. He has gotten a position that would take away his personality and put on him a very big personality in the stature of his eminent predecessors and that is a huge task that requires the grace of Almighty Allah to successfully undertake”, he said.
While thanking the Almighty God on behalf of the Ooni-elect, the Minister designate assured the Ooni-elect of his support and prayer at all times in the realization of the enormity of responsibilities the new position have thrown upon him.
He added that it was not by accident that Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi was being called upon to mount the throne at this particular time in the history of the ancient city; hence the need for him to be focused and rely on the power of Almighty Allah to succeed.
“I pray that the new monarch will, according to his name, ‘Eniitan’ leave good legacy for the ancient city and will for long be remembered for such by several generations to come after him” the statement prayed.

END.
