Reformation Movement of Nigeria has condemned the general insecurity in the country which culminated in  the recent gruesome killing of more than 70 harmless people in Benue State by Fulani herdsmen, warning that unless the perpetuators are
arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law, such heinous crime will continue.
In a communiqué issued by the group, signed by it’s national president, Shomuji Jimmy Sho and Director of Media/Publicity, Samuel Ajayi Crowther, the group which was formed to teach and point out errors in
governance noted that there is need for President Muhammadu Buhari to reshuffle the security apparatus in order to arrest the security challenges, lawlessness and injustice ravaging the country.
“It is pity that many weeks after the
gruesome killing of about 73 defenceless  people in Benue State by Fulani herdsmen, no single arrest has been made. What this means is that our security forces have failed the nation and there is need to reshuffle the security  network for efficient performance.
According to the group, it is absurd that the government is recommending Cattle Colonies as solution to the herdsmen/farmers clash when many countries are embracing ranching with an advise to  the Federal Government to jettison the issue of colony which will create more problems in future.
On the state of the economy,  the group noted with regret the poor economic situation of the country and the level of unemployment among the youths and
urged the President’s economic team to come out with policies that will stabilise the economy, provide jobs, properly fund  the country’s institutions , construction of new roads and maintenance  of other infrastructure.
The group noted with regrets the persistent fuel crisis in the country which it attributed to high level of corruption noting that those involved must be handed over to EFCC for prosecution.
“As a key player and keen follower of
events in the country especially since the inauguration of the present government in 2015. we are all witnesses to the high level of foul play  and corruption allegations against the last government as regards payment of oil subsidies which helped in no small way in ensuring President Muhammadu Buhari victory at the polls.
“It now seems this government has allowed such to creep into the down stream oil sector which has led to huge loss of revenue and persistent  fuel crisis being witnessed in the country. The government should do the needful and not only sack those involved but hand them over  to EFCC for prosecution”, the communique said.
Reformation movement while noting that it is the right of every Nigerian to seek for re- election, advised President Muhammadu Buhari to consider his health status before making any decision on his second term bid noting that it would be better for the President to jettison contesting again in 2019 but take a deserved rest even as it
enjoined its members to show love to all irrespective of their tribal, social, religious, ethnic or political background.
