*seeks appointment of youth representative as member of commission

The Kaduna Youth Agenda has advised the Kaduna State Peace Commission to promote and establish a permanent dialogue mechanism, while making case for the appointment of youth representative in the commission.
This was expressed by the Executive Director,  One Project Afrika Reach Out Foundation (OPA) Mrs Zugwai Ayuba, while reading out the agenda document on Friday during inauguration of Media Cohort in Kaduna.
The agenda also demanded that  government should improve capacity for staff of the commission on mediation, dialogue and reconciliation to be carried out in communities.
“Government should ensure timely release of funds and cash backing to enable peace commission undertake comprehensive peace education in schools and rural communities,” the document advocated.
It further suggested that in the short term, there should be appointment of youth representative in Kaduna Peace Commission, while in the long run, it made demands for the amendment of Kaduna Peace Commission.
The inauguration of the cohort was held on Friday May 17, 2019 in Kaduna, with members drawn from mainstream and new media.
The One Project Afrika Reach Out Foundation (OPA) which is behind the advocacy for the Kaduna Youth Agenda is in collaboration with key partners, National Democratic Institute (NDI), USAID, UKaid among others.
