Professor Owasanoye to speak at IPC’S Media Tweet Conference & Dialogue on Transparency

Professor Bolaji Owasanoye, Executive Secretary of the Presidential Advisory Committee on Corruption is billed to speak on the “State of Transparency and Accountability in Nigeria: Issues for Media Digest and Understanding” at the Media Tweet Conference organized by the International Press Centre (IPC), Lagos-Nigeria on Tuesday May 31, 2016.
This third tweet-a-thon with hashtag #Media4T is an activity under a Media Transparency Watch project being implemented by the International Press Centre (IPC) with the funding support of the United States Consulate General in Lagos.
A releases by Lanre Arogundade, Director of the Centre said the objective of the event is to promote media and public dialogue on the imperative of transparency, accountability and anti-corruption for good governance in Nigeria and as well enrich the content of media reports on transparency issues, among others.
“The event will be attended by leading media professionals including editors and reporters, journalism and communication scholars as well as representatives of civil society groups, media professional bodies and media support groups.
“The event will be streamed live via twitter, facebook and other social media channels to allow for the participation of many interested individuals and groups as possible.
“It is expected that the outcomes of the tweet conferences will stimulate investigative journalism and media advocacy for greater transparency and anti-corruption in Nigeria” he stressed.
