Kaduna Master Printer’s Association (KAMPA) has lamented the high rate of printing ‎ materials, saying they are almost sent out of business for inability to purchase the materials.
Towards this end, the printers have appealed passionately to the Federal Government to intervene and assist accordingly for them to remain in business.
Addressing a press conference on their plight , Chairman of the association in Kaduna, Alhaji Mustapha O. Omotosho flanked by other executives said, “since the coming of this present administration into governance, prices of printing materials have sky rocketed astronomically ‎by more than 300 percent.
“For example, a realm of 20x30x60gsm paper which used to sell prior to this administration for N1900 has jumped to N5600 as at today. This cut across all materials used in printing.
“We urged the Federa‎l Government to do whatever it can to stem this tide of rising prices. It is not good for the economy”.
‎KAMPA which the Chairman said is made up of over 1000 members and registered, also appealed to Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai to assist them with land allocation which can be referred to as the Printers Village.
The request he said, followed the demolition of their shops and offices which used to be their sources of income.
“Similarly, we have made appeals in our correspondence to the State Government for an allocation of a parcel of land for development of a permanent site for printers to be called the “Printers Village”.
