Senator Kabiru Gaya has showered encomium on a 117 years old woman who displayed rare patriotism by going out to cast her votes in the gubernatorial and State Assembly polls held on Saturday.
Senator Gaya expressed this while fielding questions from newsmen shortly after voting alongside the Centenarian for APC in Kano.
On patriotism demonstrated by Hajiya Koko, who is 117 years but defiled all odds to come to vote, Senator Kabiru Ibrahim Gaya (APC Kano South) said that by coming to cast her vote, Hajiya Koko is among the older generation who believe in Nigeria and electoral process that is transparent, fair and just.
The Senator challenged the younger generation to imbibe in her zeal for one Nigeria.
History was made in Kano as the centenarian, Hajiya Mai Koko Gaya refused to be disenfranchised by coming out to vote for the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC).
