Polls: Osoba Calls For Redeployment Of Ogun Police Commissioner

A former Governor of Ogun State, Chief Segun Osoba has called for the immediate redeployment of the state Commissioner of Police, Mr Ahmed Iliyasu warning that if there is snatching  of ballot  boxes he should be held responsible.

Osoba who is the Akinrogun of Egbaland stated this shortly after he cast his vote at ward 14 unit 15,Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta.
According to him, if two weeks after  President Muhammad Buhari was pelted with bottle water and stones, no arrest was made, it means the Commissioner has been compromised.
“Iliyasu is a failure if the President, the vice president and the national chairman of the party were stoned and up till now no arrest was made, it means the Commissioner was protecting thugs.
“The unfortunate thing is that  policemen out numbered those thugs and no arrest  it means he is a misfit in the Nigerian Police.
“As a stakeholder and elder statesman, I say without mincing words that if anybody snatches ballot boxes he should be responsible and in any case, why is he refusing to leave Ogun State after redeploymen,”  Osoba queried.
He later expressed satisfaction with the turn out of the electorates saying, so far there are minor problems occasioned by insufficient voting materials and non functioning of some card readers.
Meanwhile, elections in Ogun State  started late in some polling booths because of late arrival of INEC accredited officials and malfunctioning of card readers.
Virtually in all wards and units visited, there was large turn out as people showed enthusiasm and comported themselves .
