Political singers are the pillars of democracy  as their messages to the general public  serve as enlightenment, especially in the present democratic dispensation.

This was expressed by a political singer, Malam Suleiman Leri Dawakin Tofa popularly known as Sulaiman na Maroko, where he disclosed that politicians are very important in a civilian government, but they need a helping  hands from the singers as seen nowadays.

He opined that democracy in Nigeria is gradually taking a new dimension because political singers are using their talents and experience to point out important issues related to candidates eligibility, trust and ability to govern the people with good performance.

Malam Sulaiman Leri boasted that his political songs are making more impact in bringing out beneficial sides of candidates  especially during campaigns or after the election in order to bring things into perspective.

He used the  opportunity to thank Nigerian politicians for their courage in putting democracy on to a good foundation.
