A five-man syndicate who specialises in trailing and robbing bank customers after withdrawing money has been smashed by the police.
The five man gang were said to have been arrested by operatives of the Inspector General of Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT) led by ACP ABBAH KYARI following intelligence report.
The suspects were identified as Ademola Adekunle 32years, native of Oyo State, Useini Aminu 44 years, native of Kogi State Babangida Abdulahi , aged 35years from Zamfata State, Tunde Adebola, 40 years from Ogun State and Ibrahim Abdullahi 40 years old.
In a release by the IRT office made available to journalists on Thursday, the suspects were alleged to have robbed innocents citizens of their money under gun point in Abuja,Kaduna, Kano and Zamfara States.
According to the release all the suspects were arrested in Kaduna during an operation led by Supol Usman Maibidinga.
Their working tools which include master keys, spanners, pliers and other items used in opening and.breaking of car glasses, according to the release were recovered from them.
The release reads in part , “5/1/18: arrest of five-man syndicate who specialized in trailing and robbing innocent citizens who withdraw money from the banks in Abuja, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina and Zamfara states.
Following credible intelligence received on some notorious syndicate of criminals terrorizing innocent citizens in the federal capital territory Abuja, Kaduna and neighboring states. after serious follow up on the intelligence operatives of IRT led by Supol Usman Maibindiga succeeded in arresting all five members of the syndicate that specializes in trailing cars carrying money withdrawn from banks by innocent citizens and robbing them”.
It added that “Suspects arrested are: Ademola Adekunle ‘m’ 32yrs native of Oyo State, Useini Aminu ‘m’ 44yrs native of Kogi State, Babangida Abdullahi ‘m’ 35yrs native of Zamfara State, Tunde Adebola ‘m’ 40yrs native of Ogun State and Ibrahim Abdullahi ‘M’ 40yrs, all arrested in Kaduna State. Master keys, spanner, pliers and several tools used in opening cars and breaking car glasses were recovered from the suspects”.
