Police Arrest 11 More Suspects, Recover Arms Over 23 Unidentified Corpses

Zamfara State Police Command on Saturday  arrested 11 more active members of the dreaded and proscribed Yan Sakai vigilantee group at their  hideouts in Kasuwan Daji Village in Kaura-Namoda local government area.
A statement signed by the command’s Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Shehu Mohammed said in its determination to fish out, arrest and bring to justice the perpetrators of the killings of the unidentified 23 corpses found in a forest in Boko Village, Zurmi Local Government Area, the police through Intelligence led policing successfully arrested  11 members of the Yan Sakai group.
“You may recall that on 3rd July, 2018, the Commissioner of police, Zamfara State Command,  Cp Kenneth Ebrimson  paraded 4 Suspects for their involvement”, he said.
The state police spokesman said many dangerous weapons which included, one locally made gun with 68 pellets, eight swords, three cutlasses, three cudgels, assorted charms and consignment of gun powder were recovered from those arrested.
Shehu added that the command has also on Friday arrested two  notorious suspects at Bargaja Village in Gusau Local Government Area and one Boxer motorcycle was recovered from them.
“All the suspects will be charged to court on completion of the investigation”, he assured.
He commended the public for the inflow of information which he said led to the successes recorded and called on them to sustain the tempo.
