Plateau LG Elections: Go For Credible Candidates Not Party, DPP Aspirant Tells Electorate

 The Chairmanship Candidate of the Democratic People Party (DPP), in the forthcoming local government election in Jos North, Abubakar Yunus Salihu has  strongly ‎advocated for a credible person regardless of political party. 
 
 He said this during an interview with New Nigerian Newspapers, ‎noting that party consideration should be secondary. 
According to Salihu, “what‎ is of paramount importance to the people of Jos North Local Government Area is to elect a credible candidate regardless of party affiliation “.
 He noted that Jos – North Local Government Area has never experienced democracy since return to the system in 1999.
 The Chairmanship Candidate explained that Jos North Local Government Area needs a re credible and patriotic representative in 2019.   
“Our people need to chose their representative who has a fear of God ‎and not those who can never return after election.”
Also speaking on the need for need for credible candidate regardless of party, Abu Maleek said the system where leaders are elected on party basis is undemocratic and hasn’t helped the community since 1999.
 On the ongoing voters  registration, the politician called on the people of the area to go and get registered before the closing date.
“The people of the local government most strive to have dividends of democracy by electing responsible candidate to represents them,” he added.
 According to him, the forthcoming local government election in the state should not be compromised with the fragile peace enjoyed now.
