Planning: key to development- budget commissioner

Proper planning has been identified as an effective tool for the sustainability of Government programmes and projects particularly for the purpose of meeting unforeseen exigencies.
Ogun State Commissioner for Budget and Planning, Ms Aderenle Adesina made this submission in Abeokuta during a media chat to commemorate the first year of the second term of the present administration in the State.
According to Ms Adesina, the State prioritized its activities through the annual budget proposals in order to appropriately channel its limited resources to engender meaningful development that would rub off on the people.
She noted that the Ministry apart from eliciting views of all interest groups in the State on projects to be executed, also monitor activities of MDAs to ensure judicious use of resources allocated to them for proper implementation.
The Commissioner added that infrastructural development embarked upon by the Government was already yielding positive results as new companies are springing up at regular intervals in the State.
According to her, the diversification into agriculture and promotion of the Small Scale Enterprises (SMEs) have gotten the attention of the Senator Amosun led administration.
Adenrele emphasised that government would continue to ensure prudent management of resources, creative thinking and showcasing of the resources that abounds in the State for sustainable growth despite the current economic challenges confronting the nation.
She encouraged the people to be supportive and resilient, noting that “all ongoing projects will be completed to deliver more dividends of democracy’’.
