The Kaduna State Government has recruited 75 out of the more than 1,000 applicants that applied for various positions in the state’s Planning and Budget Commission (PBC).
PBC Commissioner, Muhammad Abdullahi said during the induction of the new staffs in Kaduna on Thursday, that the employees hold bachelor degrees in economics, accounting, statistics, business administration and other relevant fields.
Abdullahi explained that the measure was part of Gov. Nasir el-Rufai’s commitment to equipping the state’s civil service with young and vibrant professionals to improve the quality of service delivery to the people.
He urged the new employees to consider their appointments as a great opportunity to serve the state and their country.
He described Civil Service as the machinery for the realisation of government policies and programmes, adding that civil servants are the drivers and implementers of the policies and programme.
“This is why you were choosing as the best from the multiple applicants.
“Public expectation son government is very high, it is, therefore, important that you support the government by exhibiting high level of commitment to your duties and responsibilities,” he said.
He explained that PBC replaced the Ministry of Economic Planning in 2017 to create vibrant economy for the improvement of the living standard of the people of the state.
“Our mission is to serve as an effective machinery for the formulation coordination, monitoring and evaluation of government economic policies, plans and budgets to enhance the socio-economic development of the state.
“This could only be achieved through competent and well-mentored workforce.
”The induction workshop is designed to equip you with the basic rudiments skills for effective discharge of your duties,” the commissioner told the employees.
