As the Nigeria National team goal keeping problem keeps lingering, former Super Eagles safe hands, Peter Rufai has appealed to the NFF to recall Vincent Enyeama to the national team as he is still capable of manning the post for the country.
He expressed this with New Nigerian Sports, saying there was the need for the football house to send a representative to France and appeal to the top stopper on the need for him to come out of international retirement especially now that we have crucial World Cup and Nations Cup qualifiers later in the year.
According to him,  they need to sit down with Enyeama and make him realise that his services are still needed by the country.
“I am not talking about inviting him through memo or on the pages of newspapers but they need to talk to him one-on-one as that will do the magic,” he said.
Rufai while admitting that other Super Eagles goalkeepers are good and capable of manning the post, noted that there was the need for players to compete for shirts as that’s the best way to pick the best.
“We have a lot of talented goalkeepers but how many of them can beat their chest and say the number one shirt belongs to me.
“I remember during my days in the national team, when you talk of the right or left full back, you have players like Finidi George, Emmanuel Amuneke, Tijani Babangida and Garba Lawal all contesting for shirts and that is what I want to see in the present Super Eagles,” concluded Peter Rufai.
