PDP’s Ekwunife Floors Umeh, Okonkwo To Emerge Winner Of Anambra Central Senatorial Zone

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has after three days of delay, declared Mrs. Uche  as the winner of Anambra Central Senatorial election held on Saturday

Ekwunife who ran for the election as a substitute candidate under the umbrella of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP contested against the incumbent senator, Sen Victor Umeh of the All Progressive Grand Alliance, APGA and Sylvester Oknokwo of All Progressive Congress, APC

The two-time House of Representatives member scored a total of 118,484 votes to defeat the incumbent who scored a distant 81,429 while the APC candidate,  Chief Sylvester Okonkwo scored 10,999 votes.

She defeated her opponents with a margin of 37,055 votes.

The Returning Officer, Prof Charles Amobi Nwankwo also returned Ekwunife as the Senator-elect having satisfied the law.
