A massive combined effort by all the standard bearers under the flagship of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Niger State for elective public offices in next year’s general elections are strategizing to stream their efforts, strength and resources in a massive pull to confront the wobbling governing All Progressive Congress (APC) and rout them out of power.
The combined onslaught strategy against the APC is being planned as all those who have clinched the PDP’s ticket as flag bearers are to girdle up in the run up to the general elections as a common unified front against all occupiers of the seats being contested for at next year’s general elections.
The PDP’s senatorial hopeful for Niger East senatorial district, Ibrahim Isiyaku, (SAN) Tuesday called for collaborative synergies involving the party’s State Assembly flag bearers, House of Representatives’ Senate and the PDP’s Presidential hopeful as candudates awaits flag-off of electioneering campaigns.
The PDP’s Niger East senatorial district candidate on Tuesday addressed members of the Atiku Support Group in Chanchaga ward in the Niger state capital where he urged all the party’s members to pull their strength together to form a stronger, formidable front for the task ahead.
Ibrahim Isiyaku suggested that no effort should be spared, nor any cranny, hamlet, towns and cities be left unreached in the electioneering campaigns to woo support and patronage from citizens to garner enough votes to flush out the governing All Progressive Congress from power.
He called on women and youths in the ward and elsewhere to remain resolute and use their numerical power in voting out the misfits APC from power.
“Each of you must bring at least fifty voters to us in this race from your wards to ensure overwhelming votes against the incumbent party in government at both state and federal levels” he said.
At the meeting was Abubakar Abdullahi Buba, the PDP’s flag bearer for Chanchaga federal constituency election in next year’s general elections as well as representative of the PDP’s gubernatorial hopeful in the state, Umar Mohammed Nasko.
Ibrahim Isiyaku charged youths across the state to shun the lure of money for their votes just as he cautioned them against votes selling, thuggery and all forms illegalities.
Earlier, various speakers at the meeting including women group leaders, youths leaders and the Chanchaga PDP ward executives had expressed commitment to the current efforts to return the PDP back in power.
A Youth leader from the Chanchaga ward, Mohammed, pleaded for the inclusion of more youths in the area to give them greater roles to play in the electioneering campaigns.
He cautioned against compromise and underrating the governing APC even as he noted that the strategies of the governing All Progressive Congress to cause anarchy, confusion and chaos at polling centres were well known.
