Partnership: Kebbi Government Lauds EU, UNICEF, Others

Kebbi State Government on Thursday commended the efforts of the European Union (EU) in Nigeria and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), along with other donor agencies for partnering with the state administration, assuring that there would be more commitments towards addressing health challenges in the State.

The state Commissioner of Health, Alhaji Umar Kambaza made the commendation in Birni Kebbi, while receiving some delegation from EU and UNICEF in his office.

The commissioner said that kebbi State Government under the leadership of Senator Atiku Abubakar Bagudu is ready to sustain the mutual relationship between the EU/UNICEF in order to achieve the aims and objectives in the healthcare services delivery.
“Partnering with EU and UNICEF has resulted in achieving several impactful and positive results  during this present state administration, with children and women as target beneficiaries and a lot has been done in this regard, we make changes under maternal mortality and children from 0 to 5 years” he added. 

Kambaza also made an appeal to the EU to also do more on efforts towards eliminating malaria as the State Government is ready to combat the menace in ensuring free malaria diseases in the State.

“We want to do more in terms of healthcare services delivery, we commend the EU and UNICEF most especially on the issues of procurement and supply matters” he said.

Responding, the leader of the delegation Rabiu Musa who is the UNICEF Communication Officer Kaduna Field Office, appreciate Kebbi State government for the partnership assuring that the EU and UNICEF commitment towards promoting healthcare services delivery would help make the difference in the lives of children and women in particular in the State.
