The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Saliu Adetunji on Monday advised Oyo State Government and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) leaders to resolve the on-going crisis through dialogue
Oba Adetunji gave the advice in Ibadan while speaking at the yearly Ramadan Tafsir held at his Popoyemoja, Palace.
According to the royal father, there is the need for the NLC and all other labour unions in the state to see reason with the state government and find a lasting solution to the on-going crisis in the interest of the common man.
Oba Adetunji pointed out that it is glaring that the much needed amicable resolution to the ongoing face off between the Oyo state government and the labour unions can only be a reality through dialogue.
The Olubadan stressed that dialogue has been adjudged to be the best solution to crisis throughout the world, adding that “violence doesn’t solve all crisis while patience doesn’t spoil everything”.
He then called on the Oyo State Government “to see to the demand of the labour union and try to shift grounds where necessary,” saying, “life is a matter of give and take”.
