Oyo Vows To Sustain Peaceful Coexistence With Neighbours

Oyo State Government is to sustain  peaceful co-existence with all its  neighbouring states over boundary issues.
Secretary to the State Government, (SSG) Mr. Olalekan Alli gave the assurance in Ibadan at a mediation meeting between Oyo and Osun states over boundary disputes held at Odo -Ewi, Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
Mr Alli stressed that the meeting was to meditate on the boundary disputes between the two states which have been lingering for many years.
The SSG pointed out that there is the need for the people residing close to the boundaries to live peacefully and avoid actions that could lead to violence, adding that “the two states would allow the status quo to remain while waiting for the outcome of the intervention of the National Boundary Commission on the issue”.
According to the SSG, the leadership of the two states would meet later to find lasting solution to the matter.
Secretary to the Osun state Government, Alhaji Moshood Adeoti in his remark declared  that the meeting was aimed at  finding lasting solution to issue of the boundary disputes.
Alhaji Adeoti however urged the people of Oyo and Osun state at the disputed areas  to allow peace to reign at all times and see themselves as one family.
Representative of the Oyo state  Commissioner of Police, Oyo State, ASP Chinedu Oko maintained that the Police Force in the State will continue to monitor the state’s boundaries with surveillances so as to maintain law and order.
